Using In Design, recreate the type elements of a magazine cover. We will print out in class today.

SPECS:

• measure magazine cover for paper dimensions
• other sizes can be approximate for this project

BEAR IN MIND:

• Bleeds (see vocabulary)
• Margins
• color
• Font type: "Serif" and "Sans Serif"

HOME WORK DUE FRIDAY: (download printable version)

Create a DUOTONE magazine cover for a fictitious magazine called: Horror Flick.

• Use Photoshop to create two Duotones.
• Create a clipping path and "PLACE" in an 9" x 12" InDesign Document.
• Remember: use ONLY two ink colors, and ALL relevant shades and tints.

Page size 9" x 12" (we will reduce to print)

• Main Headline: "Classical Horror Films: Frankenstein Revisited"
• Second story: "Halloween 2009"
• Third Story: "The Best Special Effects of the Year"
• Fourth Story: "Has Netflix ruined the movies? The Couch Potato Speaks"
• Fifth Story: "Remembering Boris Karloff and Bela Legosi"

IMAGES (click here for images)

• Main Picture: Boris Karloff's Frankenstein
• Include one subcategory additional picture: either Bela Legosi's Dracula or Boris Karloff's The Mummy
• One of these images MUST be "Silhouetted" in Photoshop: i.e. include a Clipping Path and import.
