HOMEWORK OCTOBER 1, 2008

PROBLEM: 1 Transform two shapes through the process of metamorphosis. No limitations on process, but use the idea of spatial tension and placement to create a narrative.

MATERIAL: Pencil drawing

SIZE: 11 x 14

Considerations: Use entire picture plane. May include background texture and line to complement shapes.

PROBLEM: 2

1. Create a SIMPLE Tesselation Pattern using two or more anthropomorphic, biomorphic or zoomorphic forms.

2. After designing in pencil, trace and complete in pen and ink to create a "master" copy, worthy of presentation. Can be as small as 8" x 10"

3. Using this master, photocopy or scan to enlarge 2x and reduce 2x creating 5 different sizes.

4. Assemble onto ONE piece of paper 18 x 24 using principals of grid and placement. (see exhibit in outer wall)

Considerations: Do not draw the grid on the final presentation, but plan in sketchbook, use light pencil or tracing paper overlay.
